Molchanovs Wave 1 Certification Course

The Molchanovs Lap/Wave 1 Beginner Freediver course introduces participants to the fundamentals of freediving in a safe and relaxed way. Open to anyone who is healthy and can swim 200 meters, the course covers pool, depth, safety, and theory requirements to help participants become autonomous freedivers. By the end of the course, students will have the knowledge on how to safely dive between 12 and 20 meters, using fins or a rope, and practice distance disciplines in the pool.

The course focuses on safety, body awareness, and mental preparation. Topics include freediving physiology, pressure physics (Boyle’s Law, Archimedes’ Principle), proper weighting, ear equalization techniques, and body adaptation to underwater conditions. Students will gain the skills and knowledge to explore the underwater world efficiently and confidently.

If all requirements are completed, the student will gain a Molchanovs freediving certification and access to Molcahnovs base training.

  • Wave 1 is for ages 16+ and for anybody who wants to dive into the underwater world. This course will help surfers, divers, spearos and other watermen to understand and develop their breath-hold and diving capabilities.

  • Total cost is $550, which includes everything!

    You will have access to boat diving (if depths over 15M are required for you), pool and studio access, as well as access to the Molchanovs Dashboard to help further your freediving skills after the course is complete.

  • You must have strong swimming abilities! No other requirements necessary.

  • In order to pass the course and gain a certification card, you must meet these requirements:

    Static Apnea: 1:30

    Dynamic Apnea Bi-Fins: 30m (98 feet)

    Free Immersion Dive: 12-20m (39-66 feet)

    Constant Weight Dive:12-20m (39-66 feet)

    Rescue of Blacked Out Diver: 6-10m (20-33 feet)

    Final Exam

  • The wave 1 course is 4 days long, and depending on the group size (max 4 people), it can be between 4-6 hours each day.
