my freediving journey
Some of my earliest memories and most of my favorite memories revolve around the water. I was swimming across the pool before I could even walk.
Encouraged by my dad, I got scuba certified at age twelve, then I discovered free diving through little trips to the ocean.
At age fourteen I started my swim business, and after nine years of teaching, my love for water only continues.
I moved to Hawaii in 2019 to “finish college” which I did, but it mostly acted as a cover to pursue free diving. Instead of reading my college text books, I’d read manuals of freediving, and more often than not show up to class with sandy feet, wet hair, and mask lines on my face.
The manuals eventually paid off. Training and diving all around the world, I am a Molchanovs Freediving Instructor and an avid Freediver. With a background in Exercise Science, one of my favorite aspects of freediving is the way your body adapts and pushes past mental and physical barriers. Freediving really is for everyone!
Sunken began as a dream to share the magic of the sea and experience it from a perspective most people never have: rock bottom. From beginner to advanced courses, I am stoked to help each person explore the depths, connect to their mind and body, correct technique and expand their limits.
