Before you book
Frequently asked questions
Everything to know before you choose a lesson, practice session, or course.
Booking & policies
What is the cancellation and change policy?
Cancel or reschedule more than 24 hours before your start time. Changes inside 24 hours are not available through your account. Our team can manage an exception when appropriate.
Why do I need to confirm my email?
The confirmation link protects your family account. After creating an account, open the Sunken email, tap the link, then return to sign in and finish booking.
Whose birthdate should I enter?
Enter the birthdate of each person who will be in the water. Start with one swimmer. You can add other children, yourself, or other adults later in your account.
Where are lessons held?
Swim lessons are held at a private residence near Sunset Beach. Your confirmation includes the location details and arrival notes.
Swim lessons & groups
Which lesson should I choose?
Parent & me is the starting point for babies and toddlers who are not ready for independent private lessons. Private lessons provide one-on-one instruction. Semi-private lessons are for two similarly skilled swimmers. Open swim is supervised practice or play, not a lesson, and is open to kids and adults.
When is a young child ready for private lessons?
Children age 3 and under must independently hold the wall, blow bubbles, kick, submerge while holding their breath, pick up toys from pool steps, and jump to a parent while kicking head-down before booking a 15-minute private lesson.
How do semi-private lessons work?
Each swimmer needs their own paid spot and should be comfortable underwater at a similar skill level. Sunken does not automatically match your swimmer with another family. If no second swimmer has joined 48 hours before class, the lesson becomes private and the private-lesson rate applies.
How does swim team enrollment work?
Swim team is a full season enrollment with weekly practices, excluding holidays. The season price is charged separately for each swimmer. Booking the series enrolls your swimmer in every published date shown for that class.
Do I book every open-swim date?
No. Open swim and adult practice are booked one date at a time. Choose only the session you want from the published dates.
Little Divers & freediving
Who can join Little Divers?
Little Divers is for children age 5 and older who can comfortably swim across a pool without assistance and love being in the water. Divers age 5–8 complete the pool portion before ocean sessions; older divers repeat the pool portion at least every 12 months unless currently in Dive Club or recently trained.
What equipment does Little Divers require?
Bring a mask, fins, and a wetsuit. A snorkel is recommended. Our team can help with equipment recommendations.
Who should take Wave 1?
Wave 1 is a beginner certification course for ages 16+ who have strong swimming ability. It covers theory, pool skills, open-water depth, equalization, breathing, and rescue safety.
Who should take Wave 2?
Wave 2 is for divers age 16+ who already hold Wave 1 or an equivalent certification. It advances depth, equalization, no-fins technique, safety, and rescue skills.
What should I bring to a freediving course?
Bring a mask, fins, wetsuit, weight belt and weights, water, snacks, and a towel. A notebook or other way to take notes is helpful for theory sessions.
